I can't stop making adorable crochet food items! These patterns are adorable and so easy to make! I love how most steps have pictures associated so you can figure it out two ways if you get confused at all. I've made several so far, and each one has turned out so stinkin' cute. I would say these patterns are for intermediate crocheters, but I'd imagine with some dedication beginners could give it a go. These are adorable decor pieces or even hairloom style toys for little ones. I would recommend no safety eyes and just embroidered on eyes if you make them for your little ones to enjoy. Fantastic book, I've had endless fun with it.

My daughter begged me to make the “Chinese takeout box” from this book for her. Instructions are clear and there are lots and lots of photos. And there are so many patterns! This would be perfect for either beginners or advanced crocheters. A perfect gift would be this book plus an assortment of worsted weight yarn in multiple colors

So thorough and easy to follow! The patterns are definitely medium level and require some experience but she includes so many pictures that it’s easier to follow along and end up with the correct product! Mine look so similar to hers, even with my first tries.

I received this book as a gift two years ago for Christmas, and thought it would make a nice gift for someone else so I bought another copy. Both are in the above photo to compare. The more vibrate colored book is the older copy for two years ago, which is interesting that the color quality has decreased with its most recent print run. It’s not noticeable if you don’t have both side by side.The books also have this weird brown smudge mark above the title. It’s on both copies so it’s clearly meant to be there, but also just seems like a dirt smudge got on the design somehow and was never fixed. This is why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because it really looks out of place.It’s still a beautiful book with a lot of fun crochet patterns to make that are easy to follow for beginners with a handful of more challenging pieces sprinkled in. It’s a great value for some very fun patterns. If you’re someone who love food and crochet I would recommend getting this book.

This book is amazing!! I’m a beginner at crochet and it is very simple and easy to understand and follow along. It has a lot of different patterns to choose from, and it’s a great price.

I've made many of the projects in this book and they have all come out perfect and look just like the pictures. Instructions are correct and easy to follow. This is the most fun I have ever had crocheting.

This book is exactly what I was looking for! I wanted to crochet food snugglies and this book has a lot of options! I have never crocheted before so I'm hoping I can figure it out, but the instructions seem detailed. My son has been enjoying going through the book and marking which ones he wants me to make first!

Love this book! My first creation from it is the fries from the dinner section of burger and fries. For reference I’m on day 22 of crocheting like, EVER. So definitely beginner friendly.

I have zero experience with crocheting prior to reading this book beside watching a couple youtube tutorials.This book have pictures for every step and super helpful. I can finally make a magic ring with just 1 try.The details and instructions are very easy to follow. All the patterns are easy to follow, the pictures are so helpful also beyond cute patterns. My daughter is going to want all these for her pretend kitchen! So worth it for all the patterns included.

This book is ridiculously cute! Our teen daughter has gotten into crocheting and has been looking for a fun book with food ideas. This is it!! So many different options. The book is nicely divided into food categories making it easy to find your next project! Highly recommend!

I started learning amigurumi this summer and found a few of this author’s patterns on Pinterest. I’m so glad I bought this book! Her patterns are easy to follow and just ridiculously cute. I’ve made about ten of these foods so far and they all came out wonderfully. My fave so far is the spaghetti and meatballs—so fun. Whimsical Stitches is also great, but I like the food focus of this one.

I started crocheting in October 2022 (learned from a Woobles kit!) so I am still sort-of a beginner. I have bought multiple patterns online and also about 15 books. I can say now that this is my #1 favorite. Her patterns are SO clear and easy to follow, and it seems everything I make from this book just turns out great! It is also a very pretty book, organized almost like a menu. Each pattern has a lot of photos at different angles which is very helpful.

I am an avid crocheter and really enjoy crocheting food items. Was so happy to find this book, absolutely love it. Nice pictures and instructions for each pattern. I am planning on making every item in this book. So far I have made the hamburger, fries and apple. Each pattern was easy to understand and included some nice visuals as well to help out with the patterns. Really looking forward to making all the items in this book, they are so cute! Nice range of items from eggs to lobster to soup to dessert items and more!

I absolutely love this book! I broke my ankle 3 months ago and have been laid up for most of that time. I started crocheting as a way to keep my mind busy. These patterns have been so easy to follow and the directions for each stitch have been very helpful! It has been so much fun to create things and this has been a stepping stone into more complex patterns. I’d recommend to anyone at any level because they’re just so much fun and so adorable!

This is such an adorable crochet book!! I like to make crochet play food for my kids, so this book looked like a good one. Well it sure didn't disappoint! The patterns are so easy to read and there's plenty of photos to help you along if you need! I even learned a few new techniques as well. My avocado is a bit bigger than intended because the yarn I used is very coarse/thick (I didn't have her recommended 4-ply in the colors I wanted to use), but it still turned out good and was so easy! Even the book itself is designed very well, and I love the blue sprayed edges. I can't wait to crochet them all!

Like so many other reviewers, I couldn't wait to start working on the project in this book! I have only made a couple items so far but I have found the patterns written very well and were easy to understand. I liked her little tips throughout the book - like warning readers not too overstuff (!! that is something I always do!) There were so many different fun sections - breakfast, lunch, dinner and yummy snacks! It's going to take me a awhile to crochet through the book but super excited to do so!

I have loved Lauren Espy's previous book, Whimsical Stitches (which you should get right now too) for over a year. Her patterns are firstly, adorable, but she has extremely good instructions - even for beginners! Crochet Cafe takes it to the next level and introduces SO many cute patterns, and yet, all still so beginner friendly! It has MANY pages on techniques (with pictures!) to constantly reference if you need while crocheting. All of the designs are laid out in perfect order (my favorite so far has been desserts!). Clear, concise, easy to follow and read. Your creations come out looking just like her pictures. Definitely follow her on instagram too, @amenagerieofstitches where she shares tons of her creations!
