We’re going to use this book as part of our homeschool art. My 6 year old is super excited. We looked through all the drawings and counted the steps. My 4 year old will probably also try these with us. There are about 45 simple tutorials. I included a pic with the themes for each section. There’s a small Christmas section at the end with instructions for drawing Santa, an elf, a reindeer, and a gingerbread house, so that was a pleasant surprise for this time of year.Update: Here’s our first drawing, which we painted after. From left to right: age 4, mine, 2 and 6. Last photo shared for cuteness!!
Got this for a 5 year old’s birthday. It’s perfect!!! The book is thick and printed well. Pictures are super cute and instructions are easy enough for a toddler to figure them out

Beautiful art book for kids to learn to draw. Simple instructions for all ages. My daughter is 4 and she may not be drawing the exact things on the page but she’s following it the best she can.

I own all of Alli Koch’s how to draw books . As stated - she starts with the most basic outline and breaks everything down into small steps. I’m leaving off one start for this one b cause the theme isn’t as cohesive as her other instructional books.
This series has kept my kids busy for hours as they've learned to draw. I would give it more stars if I could!
My 9yo daughter absolutely loves this book!!! It's quite detailed and easy to follow. The little facts about each magical thing is a beautiful touch as well. Each time she tries to draw something new, she always reads the fact and then comes to find me to tell me the fact. The author really outdid herself with this one in my opinion!

Sometimes a child's art book has been helpful for me to learn some basics and apply to pen/ink line drawing stuff ...I wasn't happy with it at the adult level. -- that said.For kids this is great. They can learn and practice to draw some simple fun characters.
Especially the 9 year old - tackled the images right away and was able to draw them to her satisfaction. Delighted.

I adore this whole series of books by Alli K and my kids to do. We love to pull them out on lazy days and just draw away. My kids are 7 & 8 and these have been perfect - but I love them too!

Inside recess can be a challenge for students and teachers alike during the cold winter months! Drawing books are a favorite for my third graders and these are very friendly for young artists! I have two so far and will be buying more!
