This book is JAM packed with technique theory/instruction and beautiful projects. It's an INCREDIBLE value for the price and it's a beautiful book to have kicking around in the studio.

Beautiful spiral bounded book! I love it! Have a lot of texts which are enjoyable to read, good introduction to watercolor, gouache, and ink. The book is filled with detailed guided lessons and practices and provide knowledgeable information for a beginner like me. Love the quality of the cover, paper, details and thickness of the book. Definitely worth the money spent on this one as I can always come back to and practice it. I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves watercolor, or even if you just want to add this book to your collection. It’s absolutely beautiful for a shelf-display too!I would have given this a 5-star if the book comes in perfect condition without the slight wrinkle on the bottom right corner. Oh well, I still love it anyway :)

I got this book because I've been using colored pencil and Micron pens for years and just wanted to learn something different and stretch my artistic muscles a bit. I'm so glad I chose this one! The layout is great and the illustrations are beautiful. All the instructions are clear and easy to follow and having the book wire-bound was genius. It fits on my work table easily and you don't have any problems keeping the pages open and readable as you work.I was gifted a set of pan-style watercolors and the author suggests using those in tubes but I am still able to work with this. I may just break down and get some tube paints later. She also includes lessons using the watercolors with water soluble colored pencils, Microns and gouache paint. This is a great book for beginners like me!

I have been reading through and practicing with this book for a few weeks now and I have to say I think that this is one of the most well rounded and beautifully curated books on how to paint, not only botanicals, but using watercolors in general. The lessons shared are so well thought out that a beginner can really learn in depth about watercolors, gauche and the tools necessary to begin. I love that the author explains, in detail, every material needed, the levels of materials available and why each is useful. As a more experienced artist myself, I was able to pick up this book and still appreciate the value in its pages. I even learned a few new things myself! I feel that I know the author after reading Modern Watercolor Botanicals. There is life in these pages and readers can truly feel her passion for the subject.

Beautiful book with great visuals and explanations. I love that she offers options for those just beginning and more advanced level of artists. It has helped deepen my understanding of adding depth by shading, layering, and removing pigment for hightlights and so much more. She even has sketches you can trace in the back if you aren't confident in sketching your own pieces. I love the coil bound book, very easy to lay flat to learn and paint at the same time.

This book is a work of art and full of many traceable projects . The materials used to compile this book are beyond the status quo , it has gold corners and the cover art is indeed a project you can do yourself ! Some painting books have beautiful covers but choose not to give the instruction or template to paint it yourself and I find that distasteful .The way the author explains the different aspects of watercolor painting will give you moments of real epiphany , 💡 these light bulb moments have changed my painting forever , You won’t be disappointed !

This book is awesome with clear and concise directions. It far exceeds my expectations and I love that tear sheets are included. I had a great time tracing the tear sheet against my window since I don’t have a light box. I have already begun painting and can’t wait to read every page. I rate this six stars!

I cannot say enough what a gift this book is. It was so thoughtfully and beautifully created. Sarah does an amazing job of making watercolors approachable for the beginner or the expert. You can tell she spent a lot of time thinking about who would be reading her book and making sure all would be comfortable. I have been water coloring for years and I still am learning so much from it. Please do yourself a favor and buy this for your creative art loving friends for Christmas or just because. It is so so worth it!

This book is physically beautiful on top of being useful! I didn't realize that the corners are protected by gilded metal.. it gives the book a nice heft and a rich look. In addition, the interior of the book is laid out nicely and is rich with good, useful information. The chapters are in an easy to understand sequence and the whole book is easy to read and presented in a visually pleasant manner. I'm very happy with it, and highly recommend it.

I have been awaiting this book since Sara announced it! When I got it, I could not believe how seriously chock full of content this book is! Sara did such an amazing job covering everything you could ever need to help you explore painting modern watercolor botanicals! I have followed the mint gardener on Instagram for a while, and have always been so inspired by her work and words! I became completely enamored by her and her amazing teaching style when I took an online watercolor course that featured a segment from her. It has since inspired my work in so many ways! Her teaching style is so relatable and I love that she poured it into this book! I can’t wait to dive into this book! I highly recommend this book for someone who’s looking to get into watercolor, or a seasoned painter!

LOVE THIS BOOK! It provides beautifully thorough instructions on how to paint watercolor florals with skills that can be applied to other, non floral subjects. It is awesome to see the steps Sarah uses to create beautiful flowers. I especially love that there are traceable pieces with perforated pages for those of us not as confident in our drawing skills but who still want to paint pretty things. An extra bonus are the “why art” pages. They’re like mini self care lessons mixed in with art! I can’t wait to read each and every word.

Every single page in this book is rich with the beauty of words, inspiration, art, and passion. You can feel each drop of experience The Mint Gardener poured into each story and piece of art. Each chapter so thoughtful and engaging that artists green or seasoned will appreciate the guidance and storytelling. I believe everyone needs a copy of this treasure for their coffee table at minimum, but also for the journey of joy each person is sure to take whilst turning its pages.

EXPLAINS HOW TO DO IT AND HOW TO USE THE PIGMENTS. INCLUDES BOTANICALS, FLOWERS AND LEAVES FOR DO YOUR WORKSHOP IN THE SAME BOOK. I RECOMMEND IT.
